The Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR) is the main funder of research activities in Luxembourg. The FNR has put into place several research programmes and aid schemes.

In 2020, 299 projects were funded by the FNR for a total amount of 97.06 million euros.

The FNR supports and coordinates activities to strengthen the link between science and society, and to raise public awareness for research. It also advises the Luxembourg Government on research policy and strategy.
